Emil couldn’t stand being in confined spaces, so he went into the corner of the jail cell and concentrated. In an instant he was back outside, in the city park where he belonged, walking along, enjoying the sun and being free. Suddenly, up ahead, he could see the cop who’d picked him earlier for loitering coming toward him. Emil sighed and got himself ready. Maybe this time when he disappeared, he’d stay gone for good.
